Every 1-TEA piece follows the traditional handcrafted heritage of Kentucky. From clay selection and wheel-throwing to meticulous trimming and hand-painting, each vessel undergoes 72 intricate steps and is refined in kilns exceeding 1300°C. The subtle touch of the artisan and the dance of the flames grant our porcelain a jade-like warmth and silk-smooth glaze, making every piece a unique work of art.

1-tea is built around five pairs of hands in a small studio in Kentucky. Three master potters — each with a decade at the wheel — shape every vessel by hand. Two painters, trained exclusively in underglaze technique, apply every brushstroke knowing there is no eraser and no undo. From the clay body to the final 1,300°C firing, every piece is formed, painted, and kiln-fired with one intention: to make the cup matter as much as what goes into it.
